On July 7th, 2016, a peaceful Black Lives Matter-organized protest was ending when shots resonated in Dallas. Mayhem ensued and by night’s end, nine Dallas police officers were wounded and five lost their lives.
Within a few days, Dallas business owners and community leaders united to raise funds for the police officers and their families. Dos Jefes, a local bistro, hosted “Dine for Dallas Blue” and all of the money raised from the dinner and silent auction they hosted were given to the fallen and injured officers and their families.
Calverley Service Experts General Manager Tony Polendo was more than honored to help.
“I was at my birthday dinner less than a mile away from the terrible events of that evening,” Polendo recounted. “That night struck a chord for me. As a military veteran, I have complete and total respect for any person who wears a uniform in an attempt to protect and serve our community.”
“When my associate called to see if we would support this great cause by merely attending, I wanted to show our support to not only attend, but donate our time and effort as well.”
Tony and the Calverley Service Experts team partnered with Lennox to auction off a new HVAC system with installation included at the Dine for Dallas Blue event. Check out the pictures below of the installation.
