When you want heating, cooling or plumbing services from Service Experts Heating, Air Conditioning & Plumbing, you will pay a trip charge and a diagnostic fee separately. A number of companies you’ve worked with in the past might have combined the trip charge and diagnostic fee, but we feel we can offer even more value by keeping them separate.
A trip charge includes the cost for a licensed plumber or HVAC technician to stop by your home. Often called a service call fee, this payment is the initial rate for bringing our technicians, equipment and expertise to your door. If you would like to eliminate trip charges in the future, you can explore joining one of our membership plans.
The diagnostic fee is made up of the services needed to determine the source of a problem. In plumbing, this could consist of scoping. In HVAC repairs, it could involve inspecting the inside of your unit. If you decide to use Service Experts Heating, Air Conditioning & Plumbing for the repairs, the diagnostic fee will be rolled into the repair bill. However, you are charged for the diagnostic services alone if you choose not to.
In most cases, a trip fee includes sending the plumber or HVAC technician to your property, while the diagnostic fee addresses all the work concerned with assessing the problem and figuring out a plan for repairs. If you are paying for repairs, you won’t even notice the diagnostic fee as it’ll be rolled into the cost of the repairs.
Other plumbers and HVAC companies will charge one fee for both the trip and the diagnostics. Rather than charging you for two services at the same time, we have two individual fees. This enables us to price our services in the fairest achievable manner.
