4 Signs it’s Time to Replace your Boiler
Should you replace your boiler? Norrell Service Experts is here with a couple indicators to look for when determining whether it’s time to invest in a new boiler.
Age
If your condensing boiler has standard maintenance, you can expect it to operate about 15 years or more. Cast iron boilers can last even longer, even up to 50 years with proper maintenance. If your condensing boiler is almost 15 years or your cast iron boiler is coming up on 50 years, it may be time to think about an upgrade.
Bills
If your heating bills are increasing or you’re having to service your boiler more often, it could be because it’s time to buy a new, more efficient boiler.
Discoloration
If you notice yellow flames on the gas burners and black soot on oil burners it could be a signal that the fuel is not burning adequately and could be producing carbon monoxide. If you see these issues or have any concerns about carbon monoxide in your home, you should call Norrell Service Experts or your gas company immediately.
Comfort
If some of the areas in your home are too hot or too cold and you can’t seem to control them properly or get them comfortable, it could be that your boiler is not effective anymore and you could need to look into upgrade alternatives.
